Shopify Installation
Install the Intufind app on your Shopify store to enable AI-powered semantic search and intelligent chat for your customers.
Requirements
Before installing, ensure your store meets these requirements:

Install from Shopify App Store
- Visit the Intufind app listing in the Shopify App Store
- Click Add app
- Review the required permissions and click Install app

Required Permissions
The app requests access to:

| Read products | Sync your product catalog to the AI knowledge base |
| Read content | Sync pages and blog posts |
| Read metaobjects | Optional: sync custom metaobjects |

Privacy First
Intufind only requests read access to your public content. We never access customer data, orders, or payment information.
After Installation
Once installed, the app opens automatically. You'll see the Intufind dashboard with setup instructions.

The app adds the following pages accessible from your Shopify admin:

Accessing the App
Find Intufind in your Shopify admin:
- Go to your Shopify admin
- Click Apps in the left sidebar
- Click Intufind

Enable the Chat Widget
The chat widget is added to your store via a theme app extension. To enable it:
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes
- Click Customize on your current theme
- Click App embeds (bottom left)
- Toggle on Intufind Chat Widget
- Click Save

Online Store 2.0 Required
Theme app extensions require an Online Store 2.0 theme. If you're using a vintage theme, you'll need to upgrade or contact support for manual installation options.
Next Steps
After installation, you'll need to:
- Start your subscription and complete initial setup
- Configure content sync to build your AI knowledge base
- Customize your widget in the Intufind Dashboard
Troubleshooting Installation
App won't install
- Theme compatibility: Ensure you're using an Online Store 2.0 theme
- Store plan: Verify you're on Basic Shopify or higher
- Browser issues: Try clearing cache or using a different browser
Chat widget not appearing
- Verify the theme app extension is enabled in Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds
- Check that you have an active subscription
- Ensure content has been synced (at least 1 product)
- Clear your browser cache and refresh

Uninstallation
To remove Intufind from your store:
- Go to Apps in your Shopify admin
- Find Intufind and click the ⋮ menu
- Click Uninstall
- Confirm the uninstallation
Uninstalling performs a complete cleanup:
- Cloud data — All indexed content, chat configuration, and settings are deleted
- Subscription — Your subscription is cancelled automatically
- Widget — The chat widget is removed from your theme

Reinstalling?
If you reinstall the app later, you'll need to start a new subscription and sync your content again. Previous indexed data is not recoverable.
