  • Product recommendations and comparisons
  • Order lookups for logged-in customers (WooCommerce)
  • Live agent handoff when needed
  • Works on all pages automatically

Default: On

Toggle the floating chat widget on your site.

SettingBehavior
OnChat widget appears on all frontend pages
OffChat widget is hidden; no chat functionality

When disabled, the chat widget script is not loaded at all, so there's zero performance impact.

Configuration in Cloud Dashboard

☁️
Most chat settings are in your Intufind Dashboard
Chat appearance, behavior, prompts, and live agent settings are configured in your Intufind Dashboard, not in WordPress. This allows you to manage settings across all your connected sites from one place.

Settings configured in the dashboard include:

Setting CategoryExamples
AppearanceColors, position, button style, dark/light mode
ContentHeader text, greeting message, placeholder text
BehaviorAuto-open, message actions, timestamps
PromptsSuggested questions shown to visitors
Live AgentSlack/Zendesk integration for human handoff
InstructionsCustom AI behavior and knowledge

To configure these settings:

  1. Go to intufind.com/dashboard
  2. Select your workspace
  3. Navigate to Chat Settings

Changes take effect immediately on your WordPress site.

How the Chat Widget Works

  1. Widget loads — Chat widget loads on your site
  2. Configuration applied — Settings from your dashboard are applied
  3. Page context — Current page information helps provide relevant answers

For Logged-in Users

When a WordPress user is logged in, the chat widget provides additional capabilities:

  • Order lookups — "Where is my order?" queries work automatically
  • Personalized responses — AI knows the user's name
  • Secure access — Users can only see their own data

Anonymous Visitors

For visitors who aren't logged in:

  • Full chat functionality for content questions
  • Product search and recommendations
  • No access to order-specific features
  • Can still request live agent support

WooCommerce Integration

When WooCommerce is active, the chat widget gains e-commerce capabilities:

CapabilityExample Query
Order status"Where is my order?"
Order details"What did I order last week?"
Product search"Show me running shoes under $100"
Recommendations"What goes well with this tent?"
Comparisons"Compare these two products"

These features are powered by Order Support which provides secure access to WooCommerce data.

Verifying the Widget

To confirm the chat widget is working:

  1. Visit your website (not wp-admin) in an incognito window
  2. Look for the chat button (usually bottom-right)
  3. Click to open and send a test message
  4. Verify the AI responds with relevant information

Troubleshooting

Chat widget not appearing

  1. Check it's enabled: Go to Intufind → Chat and verify the toggle is on
  2. Clear caches: Clear any caching plugins and browser cache
  3. Check for JS errors: Open browser console (F12) and look for errors
  4. Verify connection: Check Intufind → Status for API connectivity
  5. Check ad blockers: Some ad blockers may block chat widgets

Widget appears but doesn't respond

  1. Check Status page for API connection
  2. Verify content is synced in Knowledge
  3. Test in incognito mode to rule out browser extensions

Styling looks wrong

Chat styling is configured in your Intufind Dashboard, not WordPress. Log in to intufind.com/dashboard to adjust colors and appearance.

Order lookups not working

  1. Ensure WooCommerce is active
  2. Check Order Support status on Status page
  3. User must be logged in with orders on their account
  4. See Order Support documentation

Performance

The chat widget is optimized for performance:

  • Lazy loaded — Script loads after page content
  • CDN delivered — Fast global delivery
  • Minimal footprint — ~50KB gzipped
  • No impact when disabled — Zero overhead if chat is off
