Indexing Settings
Control how your Shopify content is indexed for AI-powered search and chat.
Accessing Indexing Settings
Navigate to Settings → Indexing in the Intufind app.

Index Statistics
View the current state of your indexed content.

Last Indexed: Shows when the last synchronization occurred.
Automatic Sync
Your content stays in sync automatically via Shopify webhooks:
- Product created/updated/deleted — Synced in real-time
- Article created/updated/deleted — Synced in real-time
- Page created/updated/deleted — Synced in real-time
- Collection created/updated/deleted — Synced in real-time
Manual Indexing
Use manual indexing for initial setup or to force a complete refresh.
Select Content Types
Choose which content to index:
| Content Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Products | Your store's products and inventory |
| Blog Articles | Posts from your Shopify blogs |
| Pages | Static pages (About, Contact, FAQ, etc.) |
| Collections | Product categories and groupings |
Trigger Manual Sync
- Select the content types you want to index
- Click Index Selected Content Now
- Wait for the sync to complete
The sync runs in the background. Stats refresh after a few seconds.
Managing Individual Items
Fine-tune which items are included in the AI index.

Include/Exclude Toggle
- Include (checked): Item is indexed and can appear as links/references in chat responses
- Unchecked: Item is excluded from the AI assistant entirely
Private Toggle
- Private (checked): Item informs AI responses but won't be directly linked or shown to customers
- Use case: Internal pages, draft content, or information the AI should know but not share
Managing Items
- Select a Content Type (Products, Articles, Pages, Collections)
- Use Search to find specific items (products only)
- Toggle Include or Private as needed
- Changes take effect immediately
How Indexing Works
What Gets Indexed
For each content type, Intufind indexes:
Products:
- Title, description, handle
- Variants (price, SKU, options)
- Images
- Tags, vendor, product type
- Inventory status
Articles:
- Title, content, excerpt
- Author, tags
- Published date
- Featured image
Pages:
- Title, content
- Handle
- Published status
Collections:
- Title, description
- Image
- Products in collection
Privacy
- Only published content is indexed
- Draft content is never indexed
- Private items inform the AI but aren't shown to visitors
- Customer data is never indexed
Troubleshooting
Content Not Appearing
- Ensure the item is published in Shopify
- Check if the item is excluded or private
- Try a manual re-sync
- Allow a few minutes for indexing to complete
Sync Failures
Check Index Statistics for failed items:
- Ensure products have required fields (title, description)
- Check for very long content that may timeout
- Contact support if issues persist
