Sync Interval
Default: 24 hours Range: 1-168 hours (1 hour to 1 week)
How often Intufind automatically checks for content changes and syncs them to the AI index.
| Interval | Use Case |
|---|---|
| 1-4 hours | Frequently updated inventory or content |
| 24 hours | Most websites (recommended) |
| 168 hours (1 week) | Rarely changing content |
Note: Manual syncs and real-time hooks (post save, product update) still work regardless of this setting. The interval is for scheduled background syncs.
Sync Time
Default: 2:00 AM Options: Any hour (24-hour format)
The hour of the day when scheduled sync runs. Choose a low-traffic time for your site.
Content Types Selection
Choose which post types and taxonomies to include in your Intufind index. Only selected content will be searchable and available to the AI chat.

Post Types
Post types are organized into groups:
Core Content
- Posts — Blog posts and articles
- Pages — Static pages
E-commerce (if WooCommerce active)
- Products — Your product catalog
Custom Content
Any custom post types registered by themes or plugins will appear here.
Taxonomies
Taxonomies organize your content and help the AI understand relationships:
Core Taxonomies
- Categories — Post categories
- Tags — Post tags
E-commerce Taxonomies (if WooCommerce active)
- Product Categories — Product organization
- Product Tags — Product labels
- Product Attributes — Size, color, etc.
Custom Taxonomies
Any custom taxonomies tied to your selected post types will appear here.
How Selection Works
- Check the box next to content types you want indexed
- Click Save Content Types
- A full sync is automatically scheduled to update the index
Important: If you deselect a post type, its content is removed from the index. If you later re-select it, content is re-indexed.
Item Counts
Each content type shows how many items are available:
- Items/Terms count shows indexable content
- Drafts, private posts, and other non-public content are excluded
Manual Sync
To force an immediate sync (useful after bulk changes):
- Go to Intufind → Status
- Find the content type you want to sync
- Click Sync Now
Or use the automatic sync triggered when you save content types changes.
What Gets Indexed
For each content type, Intufind indexes:
| Content | Indexed Data |
|---|---|
| Posts/Pages | Title, content, excerpt, featured image, categories, tags, author, date |
| Products | Title, description, short description, price, sale price, SKU, categories, tags, attributes, images, stock status |
| Taxonomies | Name, description, parent relationships |
Sync Events
Content is automatically synced when:
| Event | Sync Type |
|---|---|
| Post/product published | Individual item sync |
| Post/product updated | Individual item sync |
| Post/product deleted | Removal from index |
| Taxonomy created/updated | Taxonomy sync |
| Scheduled interval | Full background sync |
| Content types changed | Full sync triggered |
Troubleshooting
Content not appearing in search
- Verify the content type is selected in Indexing
- Check the content is published (not draft/private)
- Wait for sync to complete or trigger manual sync
- Check Status page for sync errors
Sync taking too long
Large catalogs (10,000+ items) may take several minutes:
- Sync runs in batches automatically
- Progress is shown in the Status page
- Don't navigate away during manual syncs
Content type not showing
- Ensure the post type is registered as
public => true - Check that associated plugins are active
- Custom post types must be registered before Intufind loads
Taxonomies not syncing
- Taxonomies must be tied to at least one selected post type
- If you deselect all post types using a taxonomy, it's automatically deselected
- Re-sync after making post type changes
Privacy Considerations
Intufind only indexes publicly available content:
- ✓ Published posts/pages/products
- ✓ Public custom post types
- ✓ Public taxonomies
- ✗ Drafts and pending content
- ✗ Private posts
- ✗ Password-protected content
- ✗ User personal data
You maintain full control over what is indexed.
