Chatbot Settings

Configure how your AI chat assistant behaves and what content it displays.

Navigate to Intufind → Chatbot → Settings to access these settings.

Behavior Settings

Enable Chat Widget

Default: On

Toggle the floating chat widget on your site. When disabled, the widget won't appear to visitors.

Widget Position

Options: Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Top Right, Top Left Default: Bottom Right

Where the chat trigger button appears on your site. Bottom Right is the most common and familiar position for users.

Product/Post Card Layout

Options: Carousel (Swipeable), Grid (Static) Default: Carousel

How product and post cards are displayed in chat responses:

  • Carousel: Horizontal swiping, recommended for mobile
  • Grid: Static layout showing all cards at once

Show Message Actions

Default: Off

When enabled, shows feedback buttons (thumbs up/down) and copy button on assistant messages. Useful for gathering user feedback on AI responses.

Show User Copy Button

Default: Off

When enabled, shows a copy button on user messages so visitors can copy their own questions.

Show Message Timestamps

Default: Off

When enabled, displays relative timestamps on messages (e.g., "2 minutes ago").

Post Display Options

These control what metadata appears on post/article cards in chat:

Content Settings

Header Title

Default: "Hi there! 👋"

The main text shown in the chat widget header. Supports basic HTML: <strong>, <em>, <b>, <i>, <br>

Example: "Welcome to Acme Store!"

Header Subtitle

Default: Empty

Optional subtitle below the header title. Often used for response time expectations.

Example: "We typically reply in a few minutes"

Greeting

Default: "How can I help you today?"

The main greeting text shown when chat is empty (before the first message). This is what visitors see when they first open the chat.

Example: "Ask me anything about our products!"

Greeting Subtext

Default: Empty

Optional text shown below the greeting.

Example: "I can help you find products, check availability, and answer questions"

Greeting Icon

Default: Built-in chat icon

Optional custom icon/image shown in the empty state. Recommended size: 48x48px.

Upload via the Select Image button, or leave empty to use the default chat icon.

Site Context & Instructions

Site Description

Max length: 500 characters

A 1-2 sentence description of your website that helps the AI understand your business and provide more relevant responses.

Examples:

  • "An online outdoor gear retailer specializing in camping and hiking equipment"
  • "A specialty coffee roastery with brewing guides and educational content"
  • "A SaaS platform providing project management tools for creative agencies"

Leave empty to let the AI auto-detect based on your content.

Custom Instructions

Max length: 5,000 characters

Add important facts, corrections, or business-specific knowledge that the AI should always reference.

Important: The AI assistant is already fully configured with comprehensive instructions. Only add information that's unique to your business.

Use cases:

  • Correct hallucinations: "Our return policy is 60 days, not 30 days"
  • Add missing facts: "Product X is now gluten-free (updated formulation)"
  • Business policies: "We ship to Canada and Mexico only. No other international shipping."
  • Hours & contact: "Customer service: M-F 9am-6pm EST. Email: support@example.com"
  • Specific guidance: "When users ask about sizing, always mention our size chart link"

Formatting tips:

  • Use **bold** for emphasis
  • Use bullet points (-) for lists
  • Use headings (###) to organize sections
